This integrated combo system was designed for a customer that manufactures presentation boards. The system components included a Brenton 2-In/2-Out Robotic Palletizer, Orion FA-66 Stretch Wrapper, and an ID Technology 250 Tamp Printer Applicator.
The process begins with the ID Technology applicator applying a label to each unit. Then, from the HMI the operator enters which SKU is being run per lane. Pallets are picked for all cases up to 32” X 40” by the robot and placed onto one of two pallet build stations. Once the proper numbers of units accumulate on one product infeed, the robot picks and places them onto the respective pallet using a vacuum. Once the proper unit load is formed on either of the build stations, the pallet conveys to the stretch wrapper outside of the work cell and is removed with a fork truck.
If the operator designates that a case 40” X 60” or larger is being run on Lane 2, the cell looks for a pallet to place on the manual staging/pickoff station. Once a pallet is present, the pallet conveyor moves the pallet into the cell. The robot then begins picking the large cases using a fork tool with vacuum assist. When the robot loads the desired unit load, the unit load conveys back out of the cell.
